Jestřebí, 471 61

Towards the end of the 13th century, a beautiful and majestic castle was built on the difficult-to-access rock. The history of the castle is connected with most significant Czech noble families and it belongs among our oldest castles.

Its early destruction was caused by natural forces and by people as well. The rock was weathering and the legends about the treasures hidden in it attracted treasure hunters who would dig really intensively. The result was that the sandstone overhangs fell off and a part of the castle collapsed. Nevertheless, the romantic silhouette of the castle still attracts numerous visitors.

Locality: 8 km to the northwest from Doksy.
