Others

Besides semi-precious stones, many other interesting minerals can be found in the Geopark territory.

In addition to the semi-precious stones, crystals of calcite, analcime, heulandite and other representatives of zeolites are commonly found in vugs of Paleozoic basalt. Other peculiarities also include finds of natural copper in the form of wires and plates. The weathering of copper ores produces malachite and azurite, which often appear in Permian carbonaceous claystones. Other well-known occurrences include gold, sapphires and especially pyropes (“Bohemian garnets”), which are bound to Quaternary fluvial deposits. They form relatively rich accumulations at some places, although their origin has not been sufficiently explained yet.
