Cenozoic

Cenozoic sediments (only Quaternary sediments are present) are relatively poor in fossil remains.

Finds of several mammoth teeth have been reported from loess deposits. Representatives of malacofauna can be discovered in freshwater limestones and tufas. Sediments in several caves inhabited in the past are interesting from archeological point of view: they yielded many valuable finds already.
